Spectrum TG46SE 3-in-1 Self-Propelled Petrol Lawnmower
If you’re maintaining a mid-sized garden – between 1500 and 1800m2 – with slopes and rough-grass areas to manage, the 46cm, self-propelled Spectrum TG46SE Petrol Lawnmower comes highly recommended!
As the mowing season progresses through spring, summer and autumn, the condition of your lawn will inevitably change – to help you deal with this, Spectrum have equipped the adaptable TG46SE with three cutting options – collection, side-eject and mulching. Switching between modes is quick and simple.
Making the Spectrum TG46SE 3-in-1 Self-Drive Petrol Lawnmower tick is a four-stroke overhead-valve engine that’s so efficient, it develops a muscular 3.7hp from a cylinder capacity of only 139cc. Torque output is seriously impressive, so you’ll have no trouble tackling thick, overgrown grass, even if it’s damp.
A steel mower deck means impact resistance and superior durability are assured; single-point height of cut adjustment ensures it couldn’t be simpler to make the necessary changes to the blade position relative to the wheels (the cutting-height range is from 25 to 75mm).
The class-leading features continue – you’ll also get extra-large, 250mm drive wheels – ball-bearing mounted for smoothness and durability – which put down the power without scuffing delicate lawns, while also optimising long-grass manoeuvrability; and an impressively spacious 60-litre grassbag, which will keep to a minimum the frequency of those tiresome, time-consuming trips to the compost heap.
The ergonomic, soft-grip handlebar on the Spectrum TG46SE is foldable for storage, and adjustable for comfort.
The Spectrum TG46SE boasts a lithium-battery-based, key ignition system, which makes getting started totally effort-free.
The starter battery and its charger are included, with the former featuring LED charge-level indicators, and the latter featuring a red ‘Charging’ light, which demonstrates the battery is properly in its charging slot.
The front of the machine has been strengthened with a beefy front metal bumper bar to help with protection to the chassis against accidental collisions.

Our manufacturer’s warranties are designed to give you lasting peace of mind. They can vary from 2 year domestic to up to 5 year domestic (the conditions for this are detailed further along this page)
Chipperfield machines are all covered with a two year domestic (non extendable) warranty.
The Spectrum petrol range are automatically covered for the first two years however, for each annual service the machine is given from the second year and thereafter, a further one year is added to a maximum of five years.
Other manufactures warranty periods and terms & conditions can vary – please ask a member of staff for specific information.
Warranty Duration
- Domestic Use: All Spectrum Products come with a 5-year conditional warranty from the date of purchase (or delivery)
Conditions to Maintain the Warranty
Regular Servicing: To qualify for the extended 5‑year warranty, the machine must be serviced before the end of the second year of ownership and then annually thereafter—with proof of service provided when making a claim. The spectrum product must be serviced by:
- An approved service centre.
- Self Maintain – If you would prefer to service your spectrum product yourself you can purchase annually one of our Service Packs
Product Registration: The warranty for your Spectrum Product will automatically start on the day of delivery. You DO NOT have to take any actions to register formally.
What’s Covered and What’s Not
- Covered: The warranty covers faults due to manufacturing defects in materials or workmanship. If a defect is found during the warranty period, Spectrum (or an authorised dealer) may repair or replace the faulty part or the entire unit at their discretion.
- Exclusions:
- Consumable items such as tyres, belts, blades, and similar parts (unless there is clear evidence of a manufacturing fault).
- Faults resulting from ordinary wear and tear, misuse, accidental damage, or failure to follow the operating and maintenance instructions.
- Damage from modifications using non-approved components or from using stale/contaminated fuel.
- Use outside of domestic settings (warranty terms for commercial use may differ).
Additional Notes
- Non-Transferable: The warranty is only valid for the original purchaser.
- Separate Component Warranties: Some components (for example, batteries or battery chargers) might carry their own, typically shorter, warranty periods.
- Statutory Rights: This warranty is provided in addition to your statutory rights under consumer protection laws.
In Summary
If you use your petrol Spectrum Product domestically and keep up with the recommended maintenance and registration, you are entitled to a warranty period that can extend up to 5 years. However, failing to service the machine as required or using it in uncovered ways will limit your warranty benefits.
