We got it to help my husband to keep cutting the grass because he is having trouble getting around at the moment but strangely we have no problem with the kids offering to cut the grass now. We got ours in the summer last year and have used it to cut the grass and tow a trailer around the garden as like a wheelbarrow.

    We were gong to buy a Hayter or similar walking lawnmower for about the same price of this. We are so pleased we decided to get the ride on because it now makes cutting the grass a pleasure. It is great value for money and does a perfect job for us. It works really well as a vacuum as well as a lawnmower. The turn key starter means no difficult pulling of an engine rope is needed so easy to make the engine start. We fill it with the cheaper petrol occasionally which is easy. It is a good lawnmower but also works well in chopping up the apples from the apple tree on the lawn as well as the leaves that fall in the winter.

    Bought this mower about 12 months ago from Compass. Its a great quality mower at this price point….Delivered on a sturdy pallet as described. Easy to set up, started first time and gives a clean even cut, can turn very tightly if required and has a massive grass box. It comes with a Lithium-ion (power tool type) starter battery and decent charger. This mower battery is easy to access, can be removed and be charged off the mower. So no more needing to charge old lead batteries in winter like some mowers. Started first time this month after winter storage. This mower with grass box fitted easily fits through a std Garden gate width so I can get from back to front lawns and into the garages for maintenance as required. It has a hose pipe connection on the mower so you can wash out the cutting platform and blades after mowing. – Compass were very helpful during the purchase and delivery.

    Had my Spectrum DC 24/4 for 6 weeks and I am delighted with its performance. It was easy to assemble after delivery, took
    around 15 minutes. Started immediately. I have around 1000 sq Mts of lawn area which took me around 2 hours to cut with my
    walk behind wheel driven mower, now it takes me 35 minutes and is a pleasure to do. I had tried a Mountfield sit on mower and
    returned it to the supplier as it continually failed to start with the starter mechanism locking up, when that happened, I had to
    push the mower back to my garage which is no easy task for any one, let alone an 80 year old. The BIG advantage with the Spectrum
    mower is that it has a Pull Cord start facility in addition to the electric start. I have not had to use the Pull Cord at all but the
    fact that it is there is a great reassurance, This point is overlooked by many sit on suppliers, and potential purchasers,
    The mower is very manoeuvrable and provides an excellent cut.
    After over 50 years of struggling with a walk behind Mower, the grass cutting chore has become a pleasure.

Our manufacturer’s warranties are designed to give you lasting peace of mind. They can vary from 2 year domestic to up to 5 year domestic (the conditions for this are detailed further along this page)

Chipperfield machines are all covered with a two year domestic (non extendable) warranty.

The Spectrum petrol range are automatically covered for the first two years however, for each annual service the machine is given from the second year and thereafter, a further one year is added to a maximum of five years.

Other manufactures warranty periods and terms & conditions can vary – please ask a member of staff for specific information.

Warranty Duration

  • Domestic Use: All Spectrum Products come with a 5-year conditional warranty from the date of purchase (or delivery)

Conditions to Maintain the Warranty

Regular Servicing: To qualify for the extended 5‑year warranty, the machine must be serviced before the end of the second year of ownership and then annually thereafter—with proof of service provided when making a claim. The spectrum product must be serviced by:

  • An approved service centre.
  • Self Maintain – If you would prefer to service your spectrum product yourself you can purchase annually one of our Service Packs 

Product Registration: The warranty for your Spectrum Product will automatically start on the day of delivery. You DO NOT have to take any actions to register formally.

What’s Covered and What’s Not

  • Covered: The warranty covers faults due to manufacturing defects in materials or workmanship. If a defect is found during the warranty period, Spectrum (or an authorised dealer) may repair or replace the faulty part or the entire unit at their discretion.
  • Exclusions:
    • Consumable items such as tyres, belts, blades, and similar parts (unless there is clear evidence of a manufacturing fault).
    • Faults resulting from ordinary wear and tear, misuse, accidental damage, or failure to follow the operating and maintenance instructions.
    • Damage from modifications using non-approved components or from using stale/contaminated fuel.
    • Use outside of domestic settings (warranty terms for commercial use may differ).

Additional Notes

  • Non-Transferable: The warranty is only valid for the original purchaser.
  • Separate Component Warranties: Some components (for example, batteries or battery chargers) might carry their own, typically shorter, warranty periods.
  • Statutory Rights: This warranty is provided in addition to your statutory rights under consumer protection laws.

In Summary

If you use your petrol Spectrum Product domestically and keep up with the recommended maintenance and registration, you are entitled to a warranty period that can extend up to 5 years. However, failing to service the machine as required or using it in uncovered ways will limit your warranty benefits.

Many of our smaller products are delivered from our warehouse using a delivery service like DPD, DX Etc, they will contact you via phone or text to arrange delivery. You can expect to receive your parcel as early as next day where possible.

If you’re buying a tractor or ride-on mower or larger item – a special order item – it could be slightly longer, as usually we might need to carry out a pre delivery inspection (PDI)  for the machine to ensure it is set up and working properly before you receive it. Please check the product for more accurate delivery times.

We do try use our own transport for these machines if we can, as this gives us a chance to demonstrate the product, and to ensure you’re happy and confident with your purchase.

If we can’t use our own transport for your machine, as you’re out of our delivery area, the machine will be sent on a pallet via a courage company. They will then contact you directly to book a specific day and time that suits you.
