Spectrum CSWB1 Battery-Powered Electric Wheelbarrow
Moving soil, logs, feed, compost or building materials with a traditional wheelbarrow can quickly become hard work. Heavy loads place strain on your arms, shoulders and back, while slopes, rough ground and repeated journeys can make even routine jobs tiring and time-consuming.
The Spectrum CSWB1 Battery-Powered Electric Wheelbarrow is designed to take much of that physical effort out of the job. Whether you want to reduce strain or move materials around your property more efficiently, its powered drive helps carry the load so you can concentrate on steering rather than pushing.
Powered by a modern 24V / 12Ah battery, the CSWB1 provides reliable performance for extended jobs, with a runtime of up to 8 hours and a full charging time of only 4.5 hours.
Unlike a conventional wheelbarrow, which can become difficult to control when heavily loaded, the CSWB1 features a variable-speed drive of up to 7 km/h. This allows you to travel slowly through tight areas or increase the speed when covering longer distances.
Operation is straightforward and intuitive. A thumb throttle controls forward and reverse movement, while the direction can be changed at the press of a button on the handle. A clear LED display shows the remaining battery level, helping you avoid being caught out halfway through a job.
Slopes can be particularly challenging with a normal wheelbarrow, especially when carrying a heavy or awkward load. The CSWB1’s powerful DC motor and high-torque transmission help it tackle inclines of up to 12°, reducing the effort required to move materials uphill.
Rough paths, uneven lawns and bumpy ground can also make an ordinary wheelbarrow unstable and uncomfortable to push. The large 410mm pneumatic front wheel helps absorb bumps and provides smooth, stable handling across more demanding terrain.
Built around a strong steel frame with a heavy-duty steel load bed, the CSWB1 is designed for demanding everyday work. Its generous 150kg load capacity means fewer journeys when moving heavier materials, saving both time and energy.
It is ideal for use in gardens, allotments, stables, orchards, DIY projects and general estate work—anywhere that pushing a fully loaded traditional wheelbarrow would otherwise be slow, tiring or physically demanding.

Our manufacturer’s warranties are designed to give you lasting peace of mind. They can vary from 2 year domestic to up to 5 year domestic (the conditions for this are detailed further along this page)
Chipperfield machines are all covered with a two year domestic (non extendable) warranty.
The Spectrum petrol range are automatically covered for the first two years however, for each annual service the machine is given from the second year and thereafter, a further one year is added to a maximum of five years.
Other manufactures warranty periods and terms & conditions can vary – please ask a member of staff for specific information.
Warranty Duration
- Domestic Use: All Spectrum Products come with a 5-year conditional warranty from the date of purchase (or delivery)
Conditions to Maintain the Warranty
Regular Servicing: To qualify for the extended 5‑year warranty, the machine must be serviced before the end of the second year of ownership and then annually thereafter—with proof of service provided when making a claim. The spectrum product must be serviced by:
- An approved service centre.
- Self Maintain – If you would prefer to service your spectrum product yourself you can purchase annually one of our Service Packs
Product Registration: The warranty for your Spectrum Product will automatically start on the day of delivery. You DO NOT have to take any actions to register formally.
What’s Covered and What’s Not
- Covered: The warranty covers faults due to manufacturing defects in materials or workmanship. If a defect is found during the warranty period, Spectrum (or an authorised dealer) may repair or replace the faulty part or the entire unit at their discretion.
- Exclusions:
- Consumable items such as tyres, belts, blades, and similar parts (unless there is clear evidence of a manufacturing fault).
- Faults resulting from ordinary wear and tear, misuse, accidental damage, or failure to follow the operating and maintenance instructions.
- Damage from modifications using non-approved components or from using stale/contaminated fuel.
- Use outside of domestic settings (warranty terms for commercial use may differ).
Additional Notes
- Non-Transferable: The warranty is only valid for the original purchaser.
- Separate Component Warranties: Some components (for example, batteries or battery chargers) might carry their own, typically shorter, warranty periods.
- Statutory Rights: This warranty is provided in addition to your statutory rights under consumer protection laws.
In Summary
If you use your petrol Spectrum Product domestically and keep up with the recommended maintenance and registration, you are entitled to a warranty period that can extend up to 5 years. However, failing to service the machine as required or using it in uncovered ways will limit your warranty benefits.

This thing has been a lifesaver. I didn’t even know a powered wheelbarrow was a thing until theirs popped up on google when searching for wheelbarrows. Really helped me out as i suffer with my back. it is 60 quid for them to assemble it for you, which i wish i got as i have no patience when it comes to assembly!
