Simplicity

Simplicity Manufacturing Company, founded in 1922 by William J. Niederkorn in Port Washington, Wisconsin, has been a pioneering force in the outdoor power equipment industry for over a century. Initially recognized for its innovative two-wheeled tractors designed to assist with agricultural tasks, Simplicity quickly established a reputation for quality and reliability. In the 1950s, the company expanded its product line to include riding lawnmowers and garden tractors, introducing the first rear-engine riding mower in 1957, which revolutionized lawn care for residential users.

Over the decades, Simplicity continued to grow and diversify its offerings, incorporating snow throwers and tillers in the 1980s. After a period of ownership under Allis-Chalmers, Simplicity regained its independence in 1983 and acquired Snapper, Inc. in the 1990s, further solidifying its position in both residential and commercial markets. In 2004, Simplicity was acquired by Briggs & Stratton Corporation, enhancing its product development and distribution capabilities.

Today, Simplicity remains a trusted name known for its commitment to quality, durability, and user-friendly designs. The brand continues to innovate, incorporating advanced technologies to meet the evolving needs of consumers, and maintains a strong legacy of shaping modern lawn and garden care.
