It may offer the sort of superior power and handling that will be familiar to landscape professionals, but this high-performance, straight-shaft brushcutter from acclaimed Swedish brand, Stiga, is nevertheless priced at a point that makes it a justifiable buy for the keen amateur gardener!
Supplying a hefty 1.2hp is a 32.6cc Stiga two-stroke air-cooled motor with an effective muffler, which makes for a much more pleasant working environment, and a butterfly-valve for optimum regulation of both engine speed and power output.
A capacious 0.8-litre fuel tank combines with the engine’s efficient design to lessen the frequency of time-consuming refuelling stops; Stiga’s Easy-Start technology means the lightest of pulls on the rope will spark the motor into life.
The Stiga BC 535 Petrol Brushcutter has been equipped with an ergonomic and compact ‘loop’-type handle, which not only confer excellent user comfort, but also makes it easy to operate in areas where space is restricted.
It comes with a single shoulder harness, which reduces fatigue by distributing some machine weight across the shoulder; and it features Stiga’s VCS shock absorbing system, which limits vibration transfer, in turn making the job much less tiring on the hands and arms.
Suitable for both brushcutting and strimming tasks, the two-in-one Stiga BC 535 comes as standard with a 25.5cm three-tooth metal blade and a 43cm twin-line cutter head (line advance is via a convenient bump-feed mechanism).
