Its high-powered but nevertheless quiet and clean running, 196cc (5.8hp) Honda GX200 overhead-valve engine drives a series of 16 robust, rotor-mounted metal blades that will break effortlessly through even the most stubbornly compacted or clay-heavy soil types. Power is delivered via a smooth running, oil-bathed transmission.
The Meccanica Benassi RL 428 Petrol Front-Tine Tiller offers a substantial, 110cm tilling-width, which facilitates the fast and efficient coverage of larger allotment plots and kitchen gardens (the working-width can be reduced to 60 or 85cm for secondary tillage).
It features side protection discs, which prevent damage to existing crops during inter-row tilling, and it’s fitted with a front transport wheel for hassle-free place-to-place movement.
The manufacturers have equipped the Meccanica Benassi RL 428 with three forward and one reverse gear, with the latter firstly making it easy to realign, and secondly ensuring you’ll have no trouble freeing it should it become dug-in.
An ergonomic double lever mounted on the handlebar provides simple gear selection; a height adjustable handlebar ensures high levels of user comfort, no matter how tall the operator.
Meccanica’s provision of twin PTOs confers excellent flexibility of use.
