Its superior performance is thanks to its Honda GX160 engine; a 163cc, commercial-duty four-stroke motor that’s rated at a hefty, 4.8hp, and which benefits from Honda’s fuel saving, noise reducing and emission cutting overhead-valve (OHV) technology.
The Meccanica Benassi RL 426 Petrol Front-Tine Tiller is equipped with a reverse gear, which not only enhances manoeuvrability, but also makes it easy to extricate should it dig itself too deeply into the earth (there are two forward speeds, so you can select the one that best suits the particular task in hand).
Robust, large-diameter steel tines work with the high-torque cone clutch transmission – oil bathed for season after season of low-maintenance service – to ensure clay-heavy or sun-baked soils won’t prove a problem; crop protection discs prevent the outer tines damaging plants during between-row applications.
The ergonomic handlebars on the Meccanica Benassi RL 426 Petrol Front-Tine Tiller can either be laterally adjusted to help you avoid compacting freshly tilled earth with your feet, or height adjusted for the optimum operating position.
It offers three working-widths – 60cm, 85cm and 110cm – so you can select the one that’s most practical for the job type, and it comes fitted with a front transport wheel for straightforward movement to and from the plot.
