At its heart is a robust 196cc four-stroke Loncin OHV petrol engine, built for reliability and low running costs. With easy-pull recoil start and fuel-saving, emission-cutting overhead-valve technology, it delivers dependable performance in tough conditions.

The 87cm reciprocating cutter bar uses a sharp, scissor-style action to slice cleanly through thick grass, weeds, nettles, and brambles, achieving a work rate no conventional brushcutter can match. Meanwhile, 330mm tractor-style pneumatic tyres provide outstanding traction, letting you power across uneven ground, slopes, and rough terrain with ease.

For maximum versatility, the Chipperfield HCS870 also features adjustable cutting heights (30–80mm), so you can adapt the finish to suit the type of vegetation you’re tackling.

Delivery & Assembly

The Chipperfield HCS870 scythe is supplied boxed for home assembly. For complete convenience, you can opt for our Pre-Delivery Inspection service, where the machine is fully assembled, run, and tested prior to dispatch. Delivery is made securely on a pallet, and where possible, we’ll deliver by van and provide a brief demonstration—so you’re ready to get to work straight away.
